It’s set in an unusual time: Persian Empire. It was an interesting and very enjoyable read, with a nice set of characters.
I enjoyed Sarah, and her life choices, even if I would have preferred to have less religious issues in the book. I understand that this is Christian fiction, so that part was necessary, but I liked better the parts where religion was not so strong an issue.
I liked the character of Darius too. He was very much what I would have expected from a Persian nobleman.
Their relationship was sometimes serious, sometimes complicated and sometimes plain fun.
The flow of the story is interesting and very easy to read.
Very solid book!
